Knowledge
Students testing 9th Kyu are required to demonstrate:
  • Seisan kata
    • Beginner level:
      • Sequence must be correct without error
      • Flow must be present, no jerking or stopping
  • Bo Renshu
    • Sequence must be present without error
    • Flow must be present, no jerking or stopping
  • Push-Pull
    • Able to respond to pushing and pulling during Noodling without losing balance
    • Demonstrate for 3mins, 3 restarts permitted
  • Grab Releases
    • Able to demonstrate grab releases from a variety of positions
    • Demonstrate for 3mins, 3 restarts permitted
  • Constellations & Webs:
    • Students should be able to transition from grab releases to noodling and other drills, then return to noodling as called.
