Students testing 9th Kyu are required to demonstrate:
- Seisan kata
- Beginner level:
- Sequence must be correct without error
- Flow must be present, no jerking or stopping

- Push-Pull
- Able to respond to pushing and pulling during Noodling without losing balance
- Demonstrate for 3mins, 3 restarts permitted
- Grab Releases
- Able to demonstrate grab releases from a variety of positions
- Demonstrate for 3mins, 3 restarts permitted
- Constellations & Webs:
- Students should be able to transition from grab releases to noodling and other drills, then return to noodling as called.
